WORKSHOP ON EARTH DAY
04 Senior Students of AFSSS participated in a workshop organised by TERI school of advanced studies, on 23 Apr 19, on occasion of Earth Day, in line with the theme of World Earth Day 2019 “our food, our planet, our choice.” The aim was to promote plant based diet and to instill a consciousness amongst the youth on the importance of a well balanced and sustainable diet.
Dr. Leena Srivastva, vice-chancellor addressed the students followed by a short talk by Chef Manjeet S Gill.
Our students participated in ‘No Cooked Food’ competition and made fruit cream, mojito and sprouts salad. In another contest ‘Food Atlas’ Students were assigned food items – “Momos, Kathi Roll” and were asked to trace the history, evolution over a map, highlighting its nutritive value.
It was very educative and informative workshop. Students got sensitized on sustaining food for our future generations and minimising wastage of food. Result Awaited.
