AN EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE

On 16 Nov 19, 44 students of science stream, along with three teachers, Mrs. Geetika Arora, Mr. Brajpal Singh and Mr. Gaurav, visited the National Science Centre at Pragati Maidan, to see the Exhibition on “Superbugs” : The End of Antibiotics? It was an unique experience as the exhibition had been broadly divided into three sections : Microscopic, Human and Global. Antibiotics have saved hundreds of lives but now bacterias are fighting back and evolving into dangerous “Superbugs” that are spreading around the world. Antibiotic Resistant (ABR) i.e Superbugs have posed challenges but many new innovations are stopping superbugs to evolve. Indian traditional medicinal herbs might be the solution to such problems. The exhibition was laced with real stories : Doctors, Nurses, Patients, Scientists, along with the display of Artifacts, Audio track of Alexander Flemming on the possible rise of superbugs was able to engage students very well. The main agenda of exhibition to educate and sensitize the audience about the issue of antibiotic resistance was well achieved. It was overall an unique and enlightening experience for all.
