WORKSHOP ON DE-STRESSING AND CAREER COUNSELLING
1. Workshop on distressing and career guidance was organised for the students of class X and XII in the conference hall of AFSSS on 08 and 09 May 18 in a phased manner. The respective class teachers gave an insight on stress management during examination and before the announcement of result using PowerPoint presentation.
2. Students were told about simple methods to de-stress like meditation, workouts, watching television, pursuance of their passion etc during free time to combat stress. Students were re-assured that result of board exam, be it class X or XII is not the final result of their lives. They should take it as a passing phase of their lives and focus on their passion. Students expressed their concerns and also discussed how they managed stress during exam and before result during the interaction.
3. Career guidance was provided in detail:-
The science students were encouraged to explore options such as joining the Armed Forces, pursue graduation in science subjects, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BDS, BNYS, Bachelor in physiotherapy etc. The commerce students were told to explore options such as B.COM (pass/Hons.), Eco Hons. , BBA, CA, CS, CMA, Bachelor of management studies at CBS etc. The arts students were told to explore options such as Journalism, Hotel management, Travel and Tourism, LAW, BLEd, Nutritionist or graduate in language/Pol sce/Geo.
4. The response of the students and parents was satisfactory. The workshop was attended by 105 students of class XII and 61 Students of class X. 62 parents were present for the workshop.
5. The principal told the students to collect relevant information, apply to DU colleges, prioritize their option and dare to dream big.
