WOMEN’S SAFETY

As per the circular from Directorate of Education dated 20 Dec 19, arrangements were made in Dhawan Auditorium on 23 Dec 19 to show the live streaming of the Chief Minister’s address regarding Women’s Safety to the students.
Students of class VIII and IX were seated in the auditorium, 30 minutes before the address. Mrs Deepanka Arora, PGT Biology, addressed the students regarding discipline of the students and also explained why they had assembled.
The live streaming started at 11.30 a.m. After the welcome address, the Education Minister of Delhi, Mr Manish Sisodia, interacted with the students of Govt. School, SKV Shakti Nagar, N.Delhi – 1.
The Chief Minister, Mr Arvind Kejriwal, addressed the students on gender based violence and also motivated the girls to talk to the male members of their family, asking them to promise that they would never indulge in any activities that bring disrespect to women.
He also made the boys take oath that they will not inflict any physical or verbal violence on women and desist from any kind of sexual violence including eve-teasing.
The programme sensitized the students about women’s safety and this programme would definitely bring a change in the attitude of boys regarding the way in which they view women in their family and society.
