REPORT ON MEGA TREE PLANTATION DRIVE

The Government of NCT of Delhi organised a mega tree plantation drive on 08 September 2018. As per directions received from the DOE the following Sites/areas were allotted to Air Force Sr Sec School.

2. Safdarjung Road
3. South Avenue
4. Tughlaq crescent
5. Akbar Road
6. Vinay Marg
7. Chelmsford Road
8. DID belt
9. Santushti Park-II
The morning assembly was addressed emphasising the need for today’s tree plantation drive to save our eco system and to preserve the environment for the future generations.
The School also invited SMC members to be a part of the drive. Around 40 saplings were planted in the School area by Principal, Staff, Students and the SMC body.
56 Staff members were present in the School. 30 teachers were deputed to escort 154 children to the allotted locations for tree plantation and creating awareness regarding the same.
The students prepared banners highlighting the importance of tree plantation to reduce air pollution. They also raised slogans to create awareness among the community.
The students and staff went to all the designated sites and with the help of site in-charges completed the task assigned to them. saplings of Champa, Ashoka, Hamelia, Bottle brush, Alestonia, Imli and Chakotra were Planted.
Refreshments were distributed to all the participants after the drive.
The students and staff participated in the tree plantation drive with great Zeal and enthusiasm and thus made it successful.
