The city encourages recycling glass even though it’s not banned from the city landfill, though Rensch said people should check to see whether haulers accept it. Millennium and Advanced both accept glass, and many haulers do, too.

Lisa Ferguson, co owner of Falls Garbage Service, has been using single stream recycling since the business began five years ago and thinks a city mandate is a good idea.
