Live music, a classic car show and an array of food trucks are among the offerings in downtown Riverside Saturday, Sept. 28, for the finish line event of Fireball Run, a weeklong, four state adventure race that aims to help recover missing children.

Created in 2007, Fireball Run pits nearly 50 teams against each other to solve clues and complete challenges in 14 cities while distributing posters of a missing child. The event has helped recover 38 missing children, according to organizers.

Riverside Mayor William Rusty Bailey and Glenn Rowden, president of Champion Electric, are driving a Riverside Public Utilities Chevy Volt in the race. Their missing child is 7 year old Fidelmar Cadenas, who has been missing from Riverside since November 2006 and is believed to be in Mexico.

Other contestants in the race include an astronaut, a champion wakeboarder and a Lamborghini test driver, said Riverside economic development manager Larry Vaupel.

The Riverside team Air Jordan 19s took a hybrid car to highlight Air Jordan Fusion 5 the city TMs environmental sustainability programs. As a former teacher, Bailey got students into the act by creating an online check in where they and others in the community can hear from him and help solve the puzzles his team must complete.

Vaupel said the city partnered with the Riverside Convention and Visitors Bureau to organize and promote the finishing event. The city spent about $55,000 and has received $16,500 in cash sponsorships as well as in kind services from local businesses.

Saturday TMs finish line parade and festivities are expected to draw thousands downtown, though Vaupel is not sure how many to expect, and publicity of the race also makes people familiar with Riverside, Vaupel said.

Among the Air Jordan 17s racers TM tasks in Banning will be to give a blueberry facial to a dog. Contestants also will stop at the Gilman Historic Ranch and Wagon Museum for tea and to find three specific items in the museum collection, and later they will have lunch at the Fire Memories Museum.

Festivities in Riverside begin Air Jordan Spizike at noon around the Main Street mall between Ninth Street and Mission Inn Avenue.
