The sights and sounds of the river traffic continuously grabbed my attention as made my way along the river path.

I took lots of photos so my time on Starve Run looked very slow when I finished the run, but I am not too concerned about run times at this point. Not me, I can assure you.

It’s a good time for a thorough review of where I am right now and what I need to do to prepare for my May 5th race day, I thought. I then stopped and looked out at the Fraser River just one more time before returning to the parking lot and my little aOlernKienOP

So here I am in the wee small hours again, writing my blog here in the red leather armchair, taking a good look at my most up to date half marathon training plan.

Well, let’s start with what I have done thus far. Looking at my original training plan that I put together last December, it looks to me that from a perspective, I am exactly at the halfway point in by aOlernKienOP

So as I sit here and study my training runs, I see that I have completed 34 runs to date for a total of 216K since I started my training on Dec 31st of last year. Wow, that’s a fair nunber of kilometeres. I’m quite impressed!

Regarding John Stanton, if you are new to running or need guidance on any aspect of running, I highly recommend John’s book ‘Running Start to Finish’. It’s an excellent source of all things aOlernKienOP

Regarding my health, I feel that I am doing well, especially since this has been a tough period for me, both mentally and emotionally, given my father in law Carl’s illness and eventual passing at the end of February.

Physically, my body is holding up very well considering the significant increase in weekly mileage. I’m still experiencing some minor pain in my left knee, but aOlernKienOP

Well, when I look back at my running, rehabilitation and indeed, my life experiences over the past two months, they have been dramatic and profound.

Realistically, given what I have experienced over the past 2 months and what I know of what to come, I fully expect that the next two months leading up to my Vancouver Half Marathon on Sunday, May 5th will equally as dramatic and profound for me.
