American troops serving in Iraq have found the website for Courage Campaign banned, as they look to educate themselves in the run up to Tuesday crucial mid term Congressional election. The California based group runs a popular Progressive voters guide that includes information on political candidates and state propositions.

The non partisan Washington, DC political newspaper The Hill reports that the Progressive action group Courage Campaign has been informed by military personnel in Iraq that the right wing Tea Party Express and other conservative sites are easily accessible but have found Courage Campaign banned along with its Progressive voter guide.

In an October 26 letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Courage Campaign has demanded US troops be given equal access to the Progressive group information as the access that US troops already have to right wing information.

However, Courage Campaign founder Rick Jacobs sees no possible reason beyond political motivation for US troops to be denied access to its November 2nd voter guide. The group has been actively working for the end of the controversial Don Ask, Don Tell policy.
