This year’s race had a new route because of the construction along Ohio Street. The race started near Franklin and Chippewa Streets.

"I hearing from it from all the runners that have run this course today that it’s an awesome course. They love it. It faster, flatter and visually it’s just beautiful," said Tom Donnelly, the race director.

Ken Swain of Elma said it was on his bucket list to finish the 13.1 miles.

"It was really fun. All of the people cheering you on were really inspirational. It was fun," said Swain.

Race officials also put up more barricades this year to keep runners safe. However not everyone liked the roadblocks. The race director said they provided extra protection.

"We do it more for security than anything. We want to make sure the course is very safe, closed off. The roads are closed and you can absolutely be sure there are no motorists on the streets that way," said Donnelly.
