锘?Kerry Film Festival is delighted to announce its festival programme for 2013," said Roisn McGuigan, Artistic Director of KFF. "The number and quality of short films submitted this year was fantastic and we’re delighted with the way the programme has turned out. In addition to our short film screenings we’re also delighted to announce a number of brilliant features and unique screenings featuring at the festival."

The festival which runs in Tralee and then in Listowel, Kenmare, Killarney, Cahirciveen and Waterville later in the month, will open with Nick Ryan’s feature documentary ‘The Summit’, which was won the Editing Award at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. The film tells the story of the deadliest day on the world’s most dangerous mountain, when 11 climbers mysteriously perished on K2. The film was directed by Nick Ryan and co produced by Darrell Kavanagh and Irish mountaineer Pat Falvey.

Steph Green’s first feature length film ‘Run and Jump’, which was filmed in Kerry, will screen on Friday 11th October. Written by Tralee native Ailbhe Keogan, the film follows Irish mother Venetia, played by Maxine Peaks, who struggles to hold her family together when her husband Conor (Edward MacLiam) has a stroke which alters his personality and alienates his family.

The film is produced by Tamara Anghie; executive produced by David Collins.

Irish short films also screening at the festival are ‘Before we Wake’, ‘A Kingdom Once Again’, ‘Foxes’, and ‘Grand Opening’. There will also be screenings of Oscar winner Roman Polanksi’s short films.
