Air Jordan 11s an Illinois commitment

The annual Nike Camp tour made its one and only stop through the Midwest this past Saturday, holding court in Champaign, Ill., to render verdict on the top prospects in Big Ten country.

The Nike Camps feature a four hour competition consisting mostly of positional drills, repetitions and one on Air Jordan 11s ones.

Much of the excitement heading into this particular camp centered around the appearances of state of Michigan quarterbacks Joe Boisture of Saline, Robert Bolden of Orchard Lake St. Mary’s and Devin Gardner of Inkster. The highly touted trio had all competed at the same venue before, but this time it was for an invitation to attend the prestigious Elite 11 Quarterback Camp in California this July.

The 6 4, 195 pound Bolden came out and had one of the best performances we’ve seen from him in a camp setting. He showed the strongest arm of anyone at the camp, but also displayed improved mechanics and decent accuracy.

Like Bolden, the 6 5, 210 pound Gardner is dual threat quarterback and many of his best attributes are not showcased in a non contact camp setting. Still, Gardner showed that he has spent a good portion of the offseason working on his passing. His footwork is vastly improved and even though he still has an atypical throwing motion, he was able to make all the throws and did so with adequate arm strength and accuracy.

At 6 6 and 220 pounds, Boisture is more of a dropback passer and this format should play to his strengths, but whether he had arm fatigue or just an off day, he did not have the same zip on his passes that we have seen from him at other events.

Despite solid showings from the state of Michigan trio, Downers Grove (Ill.) South quarterback Chandler Whitmer, an Illinois commitment, took home the MVP honors at the position. Air Jordan 3s The voting was close, however, with Bolden, Boisture and Gardner all being considered for the honor by camp organizers.

Livonia Stevenson’s Austin White took home the MVP honors at the running back position with considerable ease. The 6 1, 185 pound White was nearly unstoppable in the one on one portion of the camp, using his speed to outrun would be defenders. White’s footwork and agility in the drills portion of the camp also solidified his MVP honors.

The other state of Michigan prospect to take home MVP honors on Saturday was Melvindale’s Wayne Pettus. At just 5 8 and 155 pounds, Pettus has not Air Jordan Fusion 5 generated the level of attention other Detroit area defensive backs, like Renaissance’s Mylan Hicks and Cass Tech’s Dior Mathis, have so far in the recruiting process. But Pettus proved his worth Saturday by beating out more highly touted defensive backs for top honors.

Although they did not take home MVP honors, Southeastern defensive linemen Johnathon Hankins and William Gholston both had good performances, too. The 6 3, 320 pound Hankins has put a lot of work into his conditioning this offseason Air Jordan 1s and it showed in his performance Saturday. The 6 7, 240 pound Gholston is the state of Michigan’s top ranked prospect and his combination of size, speed and athleticism is hard to find anywhere in the country.

Other standout performers KOBE 9 for the state of Michigan included Saginaw class of 2011 wide receiver DeAnthony Arnett, Inkster running backs/safeties Daniel and Nathan Lindsey, Ypsilanti Willow Run defensive tackle Garret Davis, Warren Fitzgerald linebacker Austin Gray, Cass Tech athlete Daniel Easterly, Lansing Sexton quarterback Taurean Jackson and Hartland 2011 wide receiver Matt Poches.
