Volleyball coach Rodney Pritchett is moving from Freeport to Hononegah this fall.

Pritchett, who coached the Pretzels to their first conference title since 1977 last fall, took the position after four year coach Julian Jacques resigned to spend more time with family.

Pritchett teams went a combined 55 14 overall and 30 2 in the NIC 10 during his two years leading Freeport. Pritchett said the location of Hononegah is a better fit for his family.

was a hard decision to make, Pritchett said. a program standpoint, they are both really good programs, and both have kids that play at the younger levels in club. It going to be different, but this allows me to do the thing that I love and still spend more time with family.

hoping that this new jordan 6 group of kids work as hard as the kids did in Freeport, Pritchett said. the toughest thing, is I had really good kids there. But so far everyone has treated me well (at Hononegah), and there a lot of talent there, so we see what happens. Jacques led Hononegah to three conference championships and the Indians state runner up finish in 2006.

Lutheran seeks volleyball coach

Former Lutheran volleyball coach Abby Jenkins took a teaching and assistant coaching position at Harlem for the upcoming season after two years leading the Crusaders.

love Abby, and she will do great at Harlem, Lutheran athletic director Devin Smith said. is unfortunate for the Crusaders that we lost a good young coach. Now the Crusaders are searching for a new coach to lead their volleyball program. A 5 foot jordan 6 11 guard, Burns averaged 6.5 points for the Bucs as a senior.

Hononegah runners in MDG

Four Hononegah runners participated against top jordan 5 distance runners from across the Midwest in Saturday Midwest Distance Gala in Lisle.

Freshman Dragon Simic had the highest finish with an 11th place in the Freshman One Mile with a 4:41.60. Kevin Jacobs also finished 14th in the two mile run, Blake Miglin was 16th in the 800, and Ryan Ballard was 32nd in the one mile.
