Hi 🙂

1) This is a really good question actually. For something such as the linings of the shoes, for example what is beneath the insole of a trainer or sneaker Air Jordan 9s we have a machine which in simple terms coats a roll of polyester with a hard setting plastic/ gloop.

For some manufacturers which would be classed as economy or economy lines of some companies they will get one go through the machine, but for others they may get 2, 3 or 4 which obviously increases the rigidity and quality of the shoes. Also the thickness of the polyester roll will be thicker for more expensive shoes and thinner for cheaper ones.

2) I look for comfort overall, and shoes that have been made in the UK or Europe that pay their employees well and don just use sweatshops for every shoe they make.

Saying that Nike KD 7 though if the sweatshops didn exist it would be likely that I wouldn have a job so there is of course swings and roundabouts. Oh it may have been on QI actually. They make some shoes more expensive because people want to buy them and if they don make them and sell them for so much then other companies will.

It probably also has to do with the goldilocks effect. They make a really expensive item of high quality, a cheap item of low quality and a very slightly less or the same quality as the expensive one and sell it about in between. Anyone buying the item reasons that they are getting a bargain.

Edit: OP would you know if any of this is true? in any way?Its the same as the majority of products really, you can only do so much with a shoe. Up to a certain point you will simply not be able to add anything more to it/ construct it better, bar from something like adding rare metals and jewels.

Of course a reason Nike LeBron 11 some shoes might be more expensive, mainly running/ football boots, is because if the money being spent on research and development Air Jordan 14s of new ideas, not the actual cost of the materials and labour Air Jordan 5s that go into the shoes.
