ANNUAL FUNCTION 2018

Air Force Senior Secondary School celebrated its Annual Day “Jagriti – Gyan ka Deep” on 17 Nov 18 in Dhawan Auditorium with great zeal and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest arrived at 1100hrs and was welcomed and introduced by Mrs Freeda Francis. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Guest Air Cmde M Agarwal, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, New Delhi. The students sang the Air Force School Song. Then they presented “Mangala Charan” – A classical dance by the girls of classes XI and XII. It was an amalgamation of Kathak and Bharatnatyam. The Principal Mrs Kavitha Menon read the school annual report which highlighted the achievements of the school. It was presented well supported with the PowerPoint presentation. This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony where the Guest of Honour Mrs Charu Aggarwal, President AFFWA Local, gave away prizes to the academically meritorious students of the school. This was followed by the cultural programme based on the theme “Jagriti – Gyan ka Deep” i.e the education dispels the darkness of ignorance. The programme was compared very well by the emcees. The theme was very well explained through the means of a story narrated by Grandfather to his grandfather. “Migante – Buds and Blossoms” (Spanish Song) revealed the dreams and expectations of a student on a normal school day. After this the primary students presented a Qawwali about the fears and worries of the school children. The Qawwali was followed by an energetic performance by the Tiny tots of classes I, II and III – “Aspirations Chhona Hai Aasman” in which they beautifully depicted the motto of Indian Air Force viz Touch the Sky with Glory. The next programme “Don’t March through Life – Dance through Life” reflected how the young mind blossoms when it is allowed to follow its dreams in building up career. This was followed by “Tu Chal” which showed how education empowers a person to face the challenges of life in an optimistic way. The next programme was a “Nakkad Natak” which reinforced the significance of education. It depicted how education helps to solve various problems faced by the nation. This was followed by the performance ‘Gar Jannat’ which showed the Unity in Diversity of our country.
Next the Chief Guest addressed the gathering and then felicitated the Best Teachers of the Session 2017-18. The last performance of the students was the “Grand Finale” where the audience witnessed the Grand Celebration of Life. And the end Mrs Deepanka Arora proposed the vote of thanks. The programme culminated with the Naitonal Anthem.
