FIRE SAFETY DEMONTRATION 2016

‘Fire Safety Week’ was celebrated from 14 Apr 16 to 21 Apr 16, under the initiative of disaster management. Fire Safety demonstration given in our school during the morning assembly on 11 Apr 16 by JWO P K DUTTA from fire section of AFND.

He explained about the different kinds of fires and the cause of their occurrences.

There are various types of fire extinguishers which are used for extinguishing different kinds of fires.

Two student’s volunteers were called on the stage & told to used the extinguishers.

It was also explained to the students that they need to be very careful while using cooking gas cylinder and have to be careful while handling electric appliances.

After explaining everything in great detail a mock drill for Fire Evacuation was carried on. The students were told to go to their respective classes. After 5 minutes the whistle sounded and all the students came outside & assembled in the ground. The class teachers were told to count head.

It was a great learning experience for the students and helped them to understand the causes of fire and the way to douse it. At the same time they learnt that ‘prevention is better than cure.’

In addition to the above poster competition was also held for classes 01 to 12, on Fire Safety. The winners were awarded by the Air Cmde Pawan Mohey VSM, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, New Delhi, in a special ceremony organized by Fire Services AFND in NWC. 120 students from class IX accompanied them as audience.
